The Lyons' Share Video Tip - Flip and Stretch

Mark Divisions
The MarkDivisions command places evenly spaced points or Blocks along the length or perimeter of an entity. The command lets you "separate" lines, PolyLines, Circles, and Arcs into segments of equal length by inserting construction points or Blocks. The entity is not cut into different pieces but remains one entity. The size of the segments is determined by the length to divide and the number of construction points to insert. In contrast to the MarkLengths command, there is no remainder.

Split Command
Use the Split command to erase part of an entity between two points. Use Split as a construction tool or to create a gap between two parts of an entity to place text or a symbol. Use the command with Lines, Circles, Arcs, PolyLines, Ellipses, Splines, InfiniteLines, and Rays, but not with RichLines.

The Lyons’ Share: Using Print Configurations

Join us for an upcoming Webinar hosted on our Facebook page to learn how to customize your tables and then include them in your files.

Date/Time: Thursday, November 17th, at 10:00 a.m. EDT

Summary: You can define print configurations to apply them as printing defaults for the Model and for Sheets.

A print configuration contains the settings for the printer, paper size, print scale and range, orientation, margin offsets, and other options such as the PrintStyle.

When using the Print command, you can select a print configuration.

You can also associate print configurations to Sheet tab names. Any drawings that use the same Sheet tab name have the same print configurations automatically associated.

Space is limited. Reserve your webinar seat now! After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Webinar.

Be part of the action by posting questions during the Webinar on the DraftSight Facebook event page. Everyone is welcome! To receive an invite to these webinars and others, visit us on Facebook and simply "like" the page.

System Requirements for attendees:
PC: Windows®, 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server
Mac®: Mac OS® X 10.5 or newer

Gold medalist Stephanie Rivard’s heroics might not have landed her on a Wheaties Box, but she has her eyes on a much larger prize.

The 17-year-old Rivard, a senior at Blackstone Valley Tech High School in Upton, Massachusetts, came home with top honors in Technical Drafting at the 2011 National SkillsUSA Championships. A year before graduation, she’s already scored a part-time CAD job designing basic components for an international manufacturing company. Read the full story.
