Isolating Layers
Use the IsolateLayer command to isolate Layers by hiding Layers. When you hide Layers, you cannot edit entities on these Layers. For sheet Viewports, you can determine whether Layers are turned off or frozen. To reverse the Layer isolation, use the UnisolateLayer command.

If you need help with a command in DraftSight or if you would like to know what a particular option does, there is a quick way to get help.  Start the command that you need help with and press the F1 key on your keyboard.  This will bring you to the help page for that command.
